Friends and Family may be an overworked term but while working with Meredith, Matt and the staff at RE/MAX Ocean Properties, I can't think of anything else. Communication with them was like talking with someone you had known for awhile and as easy as calling, texting or e-mailing someone you do often. Meredith and Matt Johnson are outstanding realtors. I would refer them to anyone I know family, friends, you name it as they provide the complete package of real estate services you would need to buy or sell a home…and then some! They listened to our needs regarding the type of home we desired to buy in the Morehead City area, its location, its key features, and most importantly, the budget with which we were working. They found us exactly what we desired in 1 and a half days!! They assisted us in negotiating for an agreed upon price with the owner. That took all of another week.
Both the seller and we were ready to go, but for some reason the bank that held the mortgage just dragged its feet. Matt and Meredith stayed after them vigorously but politely to get the paperwork done as quickly, and kept us completely informed throughout the complete process. When we (actually when Meredith and Matt) got the bank moving, the paperwork was totally completed in a matter of days, not weeks. But the Johnson's didn't stop there. They researched and provided a detailed listing of every company and even the individual's name the previous owners had worked with regarding electricity, phone service, heating, pool services, landscaping, and many other services. They even personally contacted several of these companies on our behalf since we were buying from out of town. In short, they were outstanding-total professionals, knowledgeable about every single issue on which we had a question. They exceeded every single expectation we had regarding finding a realtor to represent us in this complex transaction whom we could totally trust to lead us through every issue that arose during the transaction. After working with them to sell our house I can see why! My RE/MAX experience began in July 08. It was a holiday weekend and Matt Johnson met me at a house located on Bridges Street in Morehead City . Matt was friendly and very professional. The house wasn't for me but this was the beginning of a long search for the perfect home in Morehead City.
Over many months, we e-mailed back and forth, Matt sent weekly listings. His expertise and guidance helped me narrow the search to about 12 properties. We looked at every property, he knew exactly what I wanted, and provided all the information I needed to choose the perfect home. The difficult work began once the contract was placed on my future home in Morehead City.
In today's economy the lending companies have many guidelines to meet, it's very difficult and frustrating to go through the loan process. My loan wasn't the "typical" loan and we faced many roadblocks. Matt was there for me with calm resolve. He handled all the details while I worked to meet the requirements for the loan. When I thought the deal was lost, he reassured me it's not over and would continue to fight to help me get my home. We closed over the weekend.

In September of 2017 I was transfered to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, and had to decide where I would buy my first home. I chose Morehead City to be closer to the beach, shops and restaurants. Meredith also worked around my demanding work schedule to make sure that we had all the required inspections for a VA loan.
